In Raleigh, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in North Carolina, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Absolutely loved the nursery! We were simply blown away by the wonderful selection! The owner is amazing and he has gone beyond and above in terms of giving advice, and helping us to select what would work best for us. He is extremely knowledgeable about Japanese maples and I could have spent hours talking to him! We will definitely be back and expand our collection once we made more room in the yard :)

A Japanese Maple Paradise! There are over 100 different varieties available including a lot of odd and unique cultivars. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It was the largest variety of Japanese maples that I've seen and several came home with me. Great prices too!

Love this nursery! The size, quality and prices of the trees are by far the best we've found in the Raleigh/Cary area. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about each type of tree and how to plant and care for them.

I have 37 trees in pots. 8 metasequoia, and 29 Japanese maples that i have bought from multiple nurseries across America. The Ikandi you sent me was absolutely superb, and in perfect condition. Not only that, out of the 37 trees, this tree didn't require re-potting. I unpackaged it, gave it a shot of uncle bill's no nitrogen, and placed it on the patio. It will be just fine in the pot it came in until dormancy next year. Thank you so much Grateful maple. You folks are awesome, and you've done more than enough to earn my business. I'll definitely be buying more from you in the future. Thank you again.

Update 8 Jan 2021: second time ordering from Grateful Maple and this time was even better than the first time. The owner was extremely informative and his care and attention to detail while packaging and shipping the trees was excellent. Very well packaged. I’m honestly impressed. I will continue to give Grateful Maple my business. This was my first time ordering Japanese Maples through Grateful Maple Nursery. Safe to say Mahdi does a wonderful job across the board. My Shidava Gold and Mayday arrived in just one day safe and sound. I really have no complaints. My Shidava Gold is definitely larger than a 1 gallon. I could not be happier with these trees. It’s always cool supporting a veteran owned small business as Mahdi previously served in the Army. Admittedly, I definitely enjoyed engaging in a little banter over being that I’m a Marine. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I’ll definitely be returning for more Grateful Maples. Highly recommend.
